Congratulations to our PEAK Award Winner, Rady Children's Hospital, and to our Finalists, Veridiam and Chart Learning Solutions!

Rady Children's Hospital San Diego received the 2012 PEAK Performance Award for their Patient Access Representatives training initiative.  Congratulations!  Sarai McMahan, Keri Whitehead, Rose Johnson, Helene Cali, and Heather Park were on hand to accept the award at a special chapter meeting on September 19th at the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley.

Winner Rady Children's Hospital (RCHSD) won the PEAK Award for its competency-based training program.  For RCHSD, when Patient Access Representatives (PARs) properly register patients, the hospital prevents a loss of approximately $8 million annually.  Business performance results indicated that the complexity and ever-changing nature of compliance, systems, and revenue-cycle processes was hindering RCHSD's ability to meet this business need.

In order to reach 300 PARs with decentralized workflows and limited training resources, RCHSD created e-Learning courses that could easily be accessed.  Subject-matter experts in patient access management and training were relied upon for the design and development of these courses.

Finalist Chart Learning Solutions needed to find a way to best engage and train a remote sales staff for their client, Belmark, Inc., without creating an overburdening workload and incurring huge sales opportunity costs from pulling people out of the field for instructor-led training.  In response to this business need, Chart Learning Solutions developed a blended solution of e-Learning, live coaching meetings, learniing communities, and verification of learning transfer for their client.

Finalist Veridiam had to hire a number of technical employees to meet increasing customer demands.  Because of their unique business, candidates in the labor pool do not come to the company with the required skill sets.  To meet this business need, Veridiam's Human Resources and Operations management teams partnered to produce a training program that delivered the best in instructional design, adult learning, and facilitation, and a thorough understanding of production equipment and processes.

The 2012 PEAK Performance Awards were produced by a committee of dedicated, talented volunteers.  Committee members included judges Gloria Bader, Kathy Box, and Marianne Hamilton.  Jolene Ibarra Brown, Susan Curtin, Kim Higgins, and Ina Federal served by marketing the award and planning the Chapter meeting awards event.  The committee was co-chaired by Nancy McMonigal and Karin Riggs.  Catherine Mattice served as the committee's Board of Directors, and helped market the awards event.

Special thanks to our
2012 PEAK Awards Sponsors
