She designs and implements a variety of organizational effectiveness interventions, partners with workgroups and executive teams, and aids in system-wide change. She has over 10 years experience with both private and public sector consulting engagements in a variety of industries and has held previous consulting positions with J.D. Power and Associates, the County of San Diego, and Plus Delta Consulting. She has a BA from the University of Southern California and an MS from Alliant International University.

Catherine Mattice is a subject matter expert in the area of workplace bullying. She offers training and consulting focused on effective interpersonal communication skills, organizational communication processes and documentation, and civil work environments. She has appeared on major news stations several times as a workplace civility expert, has presented her research internationally, and has published in several local newspapers and national magazines. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Organizational Communication from San Diego State University, is an adjunct lecturer at National University and ITT Technical Institute, and regularly teaches public speaking at the United States Marine Corps Recruit Depot.

Alisa A. Shorago, JD is an accomplished and dynamic trainer. (She is also an attorney with over 15 years' experience in litigation.) Through her company, Shorago Training Services, she provides entertaining and affordable training in the areas of sexual harassment prevention and business writing, presenting, and communication skills. She has led trainings for companies, including a Fortune 50 company, in diverse industries. Gaby holds a BA in Business Administration, an MBA in Organizational Development, and obtaines her CPLP in 2009. Gaby has over 10 years of experience within training and development.She current works for USE Credit Union as the Training and Development Manager, her primary focus is strategic training planning, training design, development and implementation. The training programs she oversees include operations, lending, customer service, compliance, sales, performance management and leadership for employees in the corporate office departments, call center and 8 branches. Prior to this role, Gaby was the Training and Development Manger for the United Airlines Reservations center in Mexico City.

Kia is an independent consultant specializing in organizational development and training initiatives for improved organizational performance. She is a licensed nurse and has a Master of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Rebecca Gibson has over 15 years experience working with clients to address their toughest performance challenges, with a special focus in knowledge- and skill-building for call center executives, managers, supervisors and agents. In 2007, Rebecca started her own learning and performance consulting group that aspires to help organizations bring out the best in their employees. She is (cross your fingers!) almost finished with Educational Technology master’s program as San Diego State University, is a contributing author to many publications and the current editor of ASTD-San Diego’s Chapter Newsletter, Training Trends.

Marjorie first became interested in training while working part-time in college. A new co-worker told her that her explanation made sense in a way others had not. This launched Marjorie into a career in training facilitation and instructional design. She has experience in variety of industries including telecom, finance, medical, entertainment, and government. She has a Masters degree in Speech Communication from LSU and in Educational Technology from SDSU. She currently works for a local medical device manufacturer as a Sr. Instructional Designer. Her goals as Marketing & Funding Director are to find new, innovative and effective means for communicating to our members and the community.

Jill Macinko, MHR has over 10 years experience in training, program development, management and communications. Her expertise is in curriculum design, adult learning theory, and facilitation. She has successfully partnered with key decision makers to identify organizational training needs, created customized workshops for government, non-profit and healthcare organizations, facilitated over 3,000 hours of life skills training, improved employee performance and sense of self-worth, and improved customer satisfaction. Alan Landers, President of FirstStep Talent Management Consulting, is a senior OD, HR, L&D consultant with over 30 years experience designing and implementing Talent Management, L&D, and OD initiatives. Sarah Spicci is the Manager of Corporate Education for UC San Diego Extension. She creates customized training programs for corporate clients in the areas of Defense, IT, Engineering and Life Sciences. Sarah has been involved in adult education, training and organizational development for 9 years. Prior to joining UC San Diego Extension Sarah worked with Athena, the Rady School of Management at UCSD, SAIC and the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Kathy Box, the current Community Outreach Director joins the ASTD Board as the Training and Development Manager for Harrah’s Rincon Casino. Kathy has been a member of the Harrah’s Rincon team for almost ten years, and discovered Human Resources and Training years before that while in hotels. Currently in her role she supports and delivers a wide variety of training projects and is involved with the property HERO’s (community involvement group), as well as being very active on the CODEgreen Team, supporting a variety of programs to reduce the property’s carbon footprint. She received a BA from National University in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources. She has lived abroad in Italy, and is a devoted fan to her San Diego Padres and Chargers.
