Learning, Strategy, and Organizational Success

Panel Discussion

Executives and their learning leaders from Scripps Healthcare and Kleinfelder will describe how they collaborate to create corporate value. JFK spoke about learning as integral to success, Peter Senge discusses the discipline of a learning organization. This panel discussion spells out how executives and Learning & Development leaders put these ideas to action. We will explore how the C-suite and learning centers set goals and metrics, collaborate for results, and overcome challenges.

Veronica Zaman and Judy Blum from Scripps Healthcare with Laura Trozzi and Linda Lannen from Kleinfelder will be moderated by Eric Kaufmann of Sagatica. This conversation is not theory, but the practice of powerful Learning & Development application, value, and organization success.

Coaching in Organizations SIG: Skill-builder Interest Group (Tue, June 12, 2012)

Our June meeting will include a presentation by Jordan Goldrich. Jordan draws on his background as a Chief Operations Officer, Executive Coach, Licensed Therapist and Certified Employee Assistance Professional to help both seasoned and emerging business executives succeed. He provides consultation and coaching as well as assuming direct responsibility for managing projects. He is also an adjunct coach for the Center for Creative Leadership.

Jordan will be speaking on Who's got the "monkey": Coaching traps in performance improvement coaching. We will talk about ways to handle being assigned to “fix” an employee.

What’s a SIG?

We offer a small group environment to discuss a particular area of the learning and development field on a monthly basis. More formal than a mere networking event, but less formal than a luncheon, SIGs meetings may offer a speaker, small group problem solving on a member issue, work project discussions, or trading resources. If you are currently an independent coach with an interest in business/leadership development, or a training/OD professional looking to use coaching in your organization, our Coaching in Organizations SIG can be your peer advisory group on developing your skills and implementing new ideas.

ASTD San Diego is 65 years old! Come celebrate with us!

And, the protégés in our nationally recognized Mentor/Protégé program will be graduating!

Who: All ASTD Members, Former Board Members, and Mentors & Protégés

Where: On the Terrace at the Handlery Hotel in Hotel Circle

This event is complimentary.

4 – 5 pm: Hosted bar and networking

5 – 6 pm: Mentor/Protégé graduation and ceremony

Registration required because space is limited. No admission without prior registration. This event is complimentary for the first 100 people to register. Tickets are $40 for registrants after that.
